WAYNESBORO – Because of concerns about COVD-19, commonly called coronavirus, Rep. Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) has postponed a town hall meeting planned for Thursday, March 19.

State and federal health officials have issued guidance that people should avoid large gatherings in an effort to limit the virus’ spread. Those at greatest risk of serious complications from the disease are senior citizens and people with compromised immune systems.

The March 19 town hall was to be focused on veterans’ issues.

“I hope to again offer this event when coronavirus is better under control. In the meantime, veterans who need assistance with obtaining benefits can call my office at 717-749-7384 to make an appointment with a service officer from the American Legion,” Schemel said.
