– In his ongoing effort to gain a better understanding of where constituents in the 90th Legislative District stand on various issues, Rep. Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) is once again hosting a series of town hall meetings during 2018.
The topic of the first town hall meeting is the sexual harassment and the payouts resulting from such cases in the General Assembly. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 15, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library, 305 E. Baltimore St. in Greencastle
“My job is to be a voice in Harrisburg for the constituents of the 90th Legislative District, and the most effective way to do that is to engage in an open dialogue with the people who have sent me to the General Assembly to represent them,” said Schemel. “I encourage their participation in these upcoming town hall meetings.”
The topics and schedule of the other town hall meetings, which each run from 6:30-7:30 p.m., are as follows:
Veterans’ Issues, Thursday, May 17, American Legion Post 373, 254 S. Carlisle St. in Greencastle.
Legislative Districting and Gerrymandering, Thursday, Sept. 20, Cobblestone Hotel and Suites, 12695 Washington Township Blvd. in Waynesboro.
Expanding Nurse Practice, Pros and Cons, Cutting, Thursday, Nov. 15, Waynesboro Hospital (Board Room), 501 E. Main St. in Waynesboro.
In addition, Schemel plans to host a telephone town hall meeting on Thursday, July 12, from 7-8 p.m. to provide an update from the Capitol on the proposed 2018-19 state budget.
