WAYNESBORO – Rep. Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) is hosting a town hall meeting next week to discuss the 2017-18 state budget. The town hall is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 20, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at his district office in Waynesboro, which is located at
1402 E. Main St.
“At this point in time, the budget is incomplete,” said Schemel. “The General Appropriations bill passed by the Legislature became law this week without the governor’s signature. Still to be decided are the revenues to pay for the spending plan and the various accompanying budget bills. I look forward to presenting my views and answering any questions from constituents on how they may be affected.”
The July event is the latest in a series of town hall meetings Schemel is hosting in 2017 on a variety of issues. The remaining schedule is as follows:
-
Senior Issues, Thursday, Oct. 19, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Quincy Village, Hess Room, 1000 Wesley Drive in Waynesboro.
-
Cutting the Cost of the Legislature: A Review of Legislative Pay, Benefits, Perks and Other Expenses, Thursday, Nov. 16, 6:30-7:30 p.m., South Mountain Bible Church, 11275 South Mountain Road in Fayetteville.
In addition to the town hall meetings, Schemel will co-host a concealed carry seminar with Rep. Adam Harris (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) on Saturday, Sept. 16, 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club,
3725 Warm Spring Road in Chambersburg. Information will be presented on Pennsylvania’s firearms laws and the rights of gun owners. Further details, including how to reserve a seat, will be available soon at
